Craggs Energy has been shortlisted for an Apprenticeship 4 England Award!
This award recognises and celebrates employers who are committed to developing their workforce through apprenticeships with a focus on the learner offering additional support and resources.
In 2015, Craggs Energy CEO Chris Bingham made the decision to launch the first Craggs Energy Apprentice Academy; he comments “We’re only a young company but we are growing very fast, we have identified that as we grow we need to keep adding to our talent, because of this we have invested heavily in the academy. If it works as we expect we hope it is something that we will be able to run every year!”
In August 2015 we launched our first apprentice academy which saw 7 apprentices aged 16 – 20 begin a 12 month scheme where they would learn all aspects of the Oil industry and selling techniques. The apprenticeship scheme is structured into four quarters with a mix of classroom and practical based learning, with the final quarter preparing them for their transition into the sales team.
An integral part of the programme is the development of interpersonal skills, communication, confidence, relationship building and goal setting. Instead of taking our word for it, we asked some of the apprentices what they think about their apprenticeship:-
Emily: ‘I love it! It has really helped me with my confidence.’
Jack: ‘The amount of support we receive is second to none- would definitely recommend to others.’
Kieran: ‘The apprenticeship has improved my confidence so much…I have learnt so many new skills in different aspects of the business. These skills will be able to help me in whatever job I end up in within the business.’
Matt: ‘It’s a great introduction to working life and loads of fun!’
Joe: ‘A supportive team who develop us not only as sales representatives but also as people.’
The awards date is on Thursday 25th February 2016,
Wish us luck!
