Kerosene
Nearly 1.5 million houses and farms in the UK are not connected to the mains gas network and heat their homes/water by with Kerosene.
Kerosene, also known as Heating Oil, 28 Second Burning Oil, Central Heating Fuel and Home Heating Oil is a very clean and light liquid burning oil that is used in Kerosene Boilers for central heating and on occasion in AGA & Range ovens.
Kerosene is commonly purchased and delivered in bulk by a fuel tanker (although delivery & collections of 20 litre containers / 205 litre barrels is also available).

At residential properties and farms the fuel is stored in a fuel tank normally situated outside of the property where it is piped directly to a Kerosene Boiler. Some homes and farms use Gas Oil (Red Diesel) as a heating fuel, although in comparison to the use of Kerosene this quite rare in the UK.
Kerosene is priced by the litre and the price quoted is an “Ex VAT” pence per litre price.
To ensure your Kerosene is burned efficiently an annual Oil Boiler Service is recommended, for more information on Craggs Energy’s Boiler Service & Tank Health Check please click here.
