C51 is a premium blend of Red Diesel (Gas Oil) with two additives specifically designed to alleviate two common problems found in machinery running on standard Gas Oil.
In the UK most agricultural customers fuel their tractors with a Red Diesel which has a lower specification than recommended by the manufacturer. Most modern agricultural machinery is manufactured outside of the UK and is designed to operate on standard “Road” Diesel (DERV EN590).
In addition to this and since 2011 all standard A2 Gas Oil has an increased element of Bio-Diesel within its makeup. While this increased element of Bio-Diesel has positive environmental and emissions benefits it can cause problems for Red Diesel that is stored, specifically regarding the growth of “diesel bug” also known as “tank sludge”.
C51 contains a blend of two additives which perform the following functions:
• Gas Oil Extra
Gas Oil Extra is an upgrade to standard gas oil (BS2869:A2) which is designed to allow modern diesel engines calibrated for Road Diesel (EN590 DERV) to run efficiently on Red Diesel.

• Reduced visible emissions (smoke)
• Improved combustion efficiency
• Anti-Bug
The first sign of microbiological contamination (diesel bug) is often continuous blocking of filters with a slimy substance, which can range in colour from black to light brown. Anti-Bug additive is used to prevent the growth of diesel bug within your fuel tank.
