Did you know you can now Carbon Offset your fuel purchases?
As you know, the burning of liquid fuels such as Gas Oil, Diesel and Heating Oil releases carbon emissions directly into the atmosphere.
At Craggs Energy, we recognise the importance of carbon reduction. With the Government’s 2050 target of achieving true “Net Zero Carbon Emissions” status for the UK, finding ways to balance carbon emissions within our homes is crucial. Now, you can do it for domestic fuel purchases.
What is carbon offsetting?
Carbon Offsetting is the process where an individual offsets their carbon emissions by funding CO2 reduction projects. These can include forestry schemes, hydroelectric power stations, wind farms, and other green initiatives that help reduce carbon emissions worldwide.
This is done by purchasing Voluntary Carbon Units (VCUs) for our Heating Oil users, which reflect the fuel’s associated carbon emissions.
With this scheme, Craggs Energy does not directly purchase land, plant trees or cultivate forests. This is done by existing well-established and experienced Carbon Project Developers that are all verified by external and leading global Carbon Offset verification organisations such as:

How do I offset my fuel, and what happens next?
It’s simple.
Speak to your account manager when you next top up your fuel, and we will take care of the rest.
We deliver your fuel as usual and purchase the equivalent VCUs on your behalf to offset your Heating Oil.
After your fuel has been delivered, you will receive a message which details how much Carbon you have helped offset, and we will also share some information about the carbon reduction projects your investment has helped to fund.
