FPS urge Rural homeowners to buy Heating Oil before the “typical winter weather” arrives
The FPS is the trade association for the Heating Oil distribution industry, and offers advice and promotes best practise.
The campaign is urging the 1.5 million households who use Heating Oil across the UK to buy their oil now before adverse weather conditions begin to disrupt deliveries and subsequently affect prices. The campaign has been backed by Andrea Leadsom, the Minister of State at the Department of Energy, who recommends stocking up on winter supplies of oil whilst fuel distributors have the spare capacity for delivery.
The FPS explains that now is a good time to buy, before we begin to experience any extreme wintery weather conditions. During the winter of 2010, many off-grid customers faced delays of up to three weeks as many roads were impassable for tankers.
