The procession of over 40 tractors drew admiring crowds along the 25-mile route starting and finishing at Craggs Country Business Park, in the hills above Craggs Vale, travelling through the beautiful towns and villages surrounding Luddenden, Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge.
The Tractor Run, now in its fourth year has raised more money than ever; the organisers were delighted with the support from local people and organisations such as the Luddendenfoot Community Association and the array of pubs and restaurants they passed on route.
Calder Valley Search and Rescue were out in force on the day acting as Marshalls for the event, Al Day from the charity, said:
“We responded to over 80 emergencies last year and we rely entirely on donations to fund our life saving work.
We are overwhelmed with the money raised and it was fantastic to see big crowds of people gathered along the route to watch the convoy pass.
We are very proud of our close relationship with the farming community and it was great to see so many farmers and tractor enthusiasts supporting the event.
We’ve received loads of positive comments from the public on Facebook with some saying that the event was the highlight of their year!
Thank you to local businesses Craggs Energy, Craggies Farm Shop and MUD UK for sponsoring the event and huge thanks to everyone who donated generously along the route.”
