Craggs Energy Cold Weather Priority Scheme

Winter is approaching!

Don't forget about our Cold Weather Priority Scheme...

The CWP scheme is promoted by the UK and Ireland Fuel Distributor Association (formally known as the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers) and operated by a number of its members, including us!

Our version of the scheme allows any residential oil heating customer who classes themselves as vulnerable to be given priority in events of extreme cold weather and shortage of supply.

Caring for our customers

Most schemes across the country are exclusive to those over the age of 75, however, at Craggs we have extended our CWP scheme to any of our customers who would consider themselves vulnerable.

This may be due to age, a form of disability or illness or just being immobile which would mean the loss of heating would be especially difficult to deal with.

Sign up to the scheme

The Cold Weather Priority Initiative is free of charge and also confidential.

You can sign up to the scheme by emailing us at hello@craggsenergy.co.uk or calling our customer services team on 01422 882500 or just mention it the next time you order your fuel.

The Industry

Autumn has arrived

Autumn has arrived...we can feel it with the slightly cooler temperatures, a little bit more breeze in the air and the nights that are getting longer.

As the majority of the region will now (or very soon) be putting their heating on, a quick check of your heating system is crucial to ensure you don’t get caught out in the cold!

Craggs Autumn Checklist:

  • Clear Tank
Clear away any debris, weeds or overgrown plants from the immediate oil tank area, and make sure the path to the tank is clear for you and our delivery tanker driver.
  • Tank Quality
Check a metal oil tank for signs of rust, or a plastic tank for signs of sun bleaching or cracking. Call our team to book an OFTEC certified tank inspection.
  • Check Oil Level
When you heat your home with home heating oil, it is important to keep an eye on the tank level. Running out is the last thing you want to happen!
