We’re attempting a 50 mile walk in under 24 hours!

The walk will begin from our Head Office in Cragg Vale (West Yorkshire), taking us through the night around the boundary of Calderdale above Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden before finishing back in Cragg Vale on Saturday evening - undoubtedly, this will be a challenge for each one of us!

The purpose of the walk is to not only challenge the team but also to raise money for two charities which mean a lot to us at Craggs Energy. An initial target of £1,000 has been set which will raise money for Watermark Calderdale and The Christie Charity.

Watermark Calderdale is a not-for-profit campaign which aims to build a flood resilience fund, accessible to households and businesses within Calderdale. The team at Craggs Energy were affected by and witnessed the 2015 Boxing Day floods with the Head Office neighbouring Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge. Watermark Calderdale wishes to raise as much money as possible to help local communities and businesses in the event of another devastating flood.

Our other chosen charity, The Christie, is a leading expert in cancer care, research and education. The charity raises money for a range of projects and initiatives focusing on 4 main areas; research, care and treatment, education and extra patient services. All of these areas are above and beyond what the NHS provide, enabling Christies to not only give their patients the best care and treatment possible but also their patient’s families.

If you are able, please help support both us and these fantastic charities by clicking the link below.

Donations can be made to our JustGiving page by clicking here: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/craggs-energy-1?utm_id=2&utm_term=pmXxQR2bK

All donations raised for the 50 mile walk will be split equally between the two charities. All donations, no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated and will most definitely give us the boost to keep on walking!

What are the risks to Heating Oil Supply in the UK? Most of us that use heating oil to keep our homes warm in the cold winter months don’t have cause to think of the potential risks to the supply of fuel. Quite understandably, we take it for granted that there is no real shortage of oil in the world and plenty of trucks on the road to get us heating oil pretty much as and when we need it. Even when the temperatures drop, prices might spike for a few weeks, but there is never really a situation where this is not enough oil to go around.
